Import a meeting with an ICS file

An ICS file is a calendar document, not a screenshot. Yelya creates one VEVENT with a unique identifier, creation timestamp, UTC start and end, title and notes.

An ICS file is a calendar document, not a screenshot. Yelya creates one VEVENT with a unique identifier, creation timestamp, UTC start and end, title and notes.

Download the event card and use your calendar application’s import function. Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar support calendar files, but their import screens and duplicate handling differ.

UTC timestamps preserve the chosen instant without depending on an ambiguous abbreviation. Your calendar displays that instant in its configured local zone. Check the displayed date, time and duration after import.

Yelya escapes line breaks, commas, semicolons and backslashes in text. Long lines are folded at UTF-8 byte boundaries. The file uses CRLF line endings according to the iCalendar format.

Importing does not send invitations. No attendees or organizer email are inserted. Downloading the same file twice may create duplicate events in some apps; inspect the calendar before importing again.
